Lissette's New Eyes

As I mentioned earlier, I've noticed Lissette's eyes crossing a bit from time to time. She had recently had an injury to her eye & so I thought that might be the cause. Being the paranoid mom that I am, I took my toddler to the Opt...ician/halmologist/ometrist, one of those guys. I was surprised to find out that she's quite farsighted. That doesn't mean that she can see the future or anything, she just can't see things close up very well.
These are the pictures of her first time trying them on. It was kind of a sad moment for me because she kept looking around like she was seeing things for the first time.

She's had them for about a week now & this week she looked at me & said "I see mommy now, I see mommy face. I see daddy too." It almost made me cry! I didn't know that my little girl was having such a hard time seeing things, she seemed to be able to see things well enough before the glasses. Michael & I have never had vision problems & as far as I know no one in the family has either. The DR. said that her vision may or may not correct in time, but I'm just glad that it is helping her to see better, I'm sure that it'll help her development!
I do think that the glasses are working for her because she does like to have them on most of the time. She has to take breaks because it is a strong prescription (+ 3 and +4) if you know what that means. Her glasses are thick & heavy, but she tolerates them very well & only fusses about them when they're dirty or starting to leave marks on her nose.
It's been a bit of an adjustment getting used to seeing her in them, but we're very positive with her about how special they are & how much they'll help her. Please be sure to be very positive about them when you see her!
